When you’ve found the ideal video for your site you need to click the Embed button on the video page (as detailed in the ‘Video Pages’ section) – this will open up a pop-up Embed Code window. This window allows you to customise certain aspects of the video before then publishing it on your site. Let’s run through those details now:

Embed Code:

An embed code is a string of text that allows us to send the information about a video from our website to your website, giving your visitors great content to watch. This code is unique to your account and allows us to track and report on your views.

Player Settings:

These settings change the behaviour and size of the video you embed.

Autoplay: Your video will start to play as soon as the player has loaded.

User Initiated Start:
Your video will play once a user has clicked the ‘Play’ button, giving them control over what they see.

Player Resolution:
You can alter the resolution of the video you embed by adjusting the width in pixels. To ensure that all embedded videos are in the correct aspect ratio we automatically adjust the height.

Copy ID:

This ID is linked to your account and allows you to quickly alter an existing post on your website – replacing the ID currently listed in the embed code.

This is also used when embedding videos on WordPress or Facebook. See our Social Media guides for how to do this.
